This large country home required a grand entrance with style and grace while blending with the architecture and country setting.  Double 8' entry doors in an arched design were designed to add interest and style.  The sidelights featured true divided lites with custom beveled glass for a clean but traditional feel.  The transom design follows the arch of the doors and the true divided lites with custom beveled glass make the doors the main focus.  Privacy was not a factor for this gated country home so clear glass was used to allow an abundance of light in the foyer and adjacent main stairway.  The client originally wanted wanted red oak but did not like the heavy grain look.  They selected mahogany for its richness and understated elegance.  The double entry was finished with traditional mahogany stain and multiple coats of premium satin polyurethane.  Baldwin mortise handle sets in an antique brass finish complete the look.  Baldwin brass door knobs and hinges in the same finish were used on the interior doors except for the master bathroom which featured Baldwin Swarovski Crystal knobs.
