Before
This stately Tudor style home was in need of a new
front entry door. A custom front entry door with
sidelights and transom was designed to compliment
the home. A mahogany front entry door, sidelights and transom were
stained very dark to match the interior trims and stairway.
Panels on the bottom of the door and sidelights help to
visually ground the entryway and take your eye to the
center of the glass and transom. A diamond pattern was
used in the background to blend with the Tudor style of the
home. Bevels were incorporated into the center, bottom
corners and top of the door design. The
sidelights feature bevels in the center and at the top and
bottom. The transom was designed to accept the glass
without a casing to make it even more dramatic and provide
an abundant amount of light in the foyer and stairway.
The center bevel in the diamond background balances the
whole look. A Baldwin brass mortise lock in lifetime
brass with a large back plate and matching door bell
completed the look. The owners now have a beautiful
front entry to enhance the beauty of their home both on the
exterior and the interior. The light flooding the
foyer is beautiful with the bevels reflecting various colors
in a prism effect. The look in the foyer changes as
the light changes throughout the day.
