These doors were custom designed to
close off an opening between the client's family room and
home office. She wanted something pretty to look at
while she worked and be able to shut her office off from the
rest of the home at the end of the day. With not a lot of room for doors
to swing into the family room, sliding doors were designed.
The doors slide in front of the wall when open with a
matching red oak valance hiding the door mechanism.
The doors were stained to match the existing trim and a
premium gloss polyurethane was used. The wisteria
design in the glass features different colors and textures
of purple glass and rippled brown glass in the vines.
A trellis is featured as part of the design. The glass
was done as complete mirror images with each light or dark
piece of glass matching the other door. The background
clear glass used was of a heavy small bumpy texture to allow
light to flow from one space to the other while maintaining
privacy in the office space. |
