Quality Door & Entryway Finishing

Door floating panels are sealed and stained prior to the door or sidelight assembly.  Double floating door and sidelight panels are designed to accommodate the different temperatures present inside and outside your home allowing for natural expansion and contraction.  We stain the panels before assembly so there all areas of the panels are finished.  We also apply wood sealer to the backs and edges of the panels to ensure they are protected from the elements and minimize expansion and contraction.

All cuts for door hardware such as hinges, door knobs and flush bolts along with any glass openings are finished and sealed, preventing any moisture absorption in these areas.

Exterior doors and entryways are hand sanded between each coat of finish. Experienced hands can feel what sometimes the naked eye cannot.

Emerald Doors offer many options for finishing your new door or entryway.   Finishing normally requires ten to twelve days to assure a beautiful lasting finish.

Emerald Doors can also ship your entryway unfinished if desired.

Ultra Violet Protective Finish

Recommended for doors and entryways subjected to harsh elements and direct sunlight.

Finish formulated for wood boats.

• Doors and entryways are hand stained to assure even coloring while maintaining the natural beauty of the wood's variation of color and graining.

• Sealer coat is applied to lock in the stain color and provide a smooth surface in preparation for the premium exterior polyurethane.

• Multiple coats of ultra violet finish are sprayed on all exterior surfaces in a multi-step process.  Premium exterior satin polyurethane applied to interior surfaces.

• Each coat of ultra violet finish and premium exterior polyurethane applied to the exterior and interior of the door or entryway is allowed sufficient drying time and is then hand sanded between coats.

• Recommend ultra violet finish on interior and exterior commercial applications.

Satin Finish

Recommended for doors and entryways protected by an extended overhang or porch.

Finish formulated for exterior wood.

• Doors and entryways are hand stained to assure even coloring while maintaining the natural beauty of the wood's variation of color and graining.

• Sealer coat is applied to lock in the stain color and provide a smooth surface in preparation for the premium exterior polyurethane.

•  Multiple coats of premium exterior polyurethane are sprayed on all surfaces in a multi-step process.

• Satin polyurethane is normally preferred for doors giving a rich furniture type finish.  Gloss polyurethane available upon request.

• Each coat of polyurethane applied to the exterior and interior of the door or entryway is allowed sufficient drying time and is then hand sanded between coats.

 

Satin Premium Exterior Polyurethane

Protective Finish

Recommended for doors and entryways in various weather conditions.

Finish formulated for exterior surfaces.

• Doors and entryways sprayed with premium grade exterior primer.

   

• Primer is hand sanded to a smooth finish prior to paint application.

• Multiple coats of premium exterior paint is sprayed on interior and exterior. Hand sanded between each coat.

• Doors and entryways are available primed only.

•  Option for one side stained and other side painted available.
